We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) position at Florida Hospital North Pinellas.

It is required that the candidate serve the mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ and demonstrate proficiency in the AHS executive leadership competencies.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the CMO is responsible for improving clinical outcomes for internally tracked performance improvement data and publicly reported outcomes at Florida Hospital North Pinellas. The CMO has overall responsibility for the Medical Staff Office and Continuing Medical Education. He/she serves as physician advisor to the Case Management and Risk Management staff and serves as physician liaison to promote appropriate utilization of resources by the medical staff. Performance improvement efforts will result in improved service for patients, medical staff members and lower cost.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Solid understanding of the inner-workings of medical management activities, including utilization and population management, quality management, and pharmacy benefit management.
Strategic thinking and long-range planning skills with ability to design, execute, and link multiple projects over time to achieve a future strategic goal.
Professional ability, knowledge, and stature to effectively interface with community leaders of local health agencies/department, associations in wellness & health promotion, community business health and human resource leaders, and other organizations.
Mature interpersonal skills that positively influence collaborative relationships across the organization and in the development of staff and emerging leaders.
Extensive knowledge of the health insurance/managed care industry including products (commercial large and small group, individual, Medicare Advantage, self-funded), market segments, competitive landscape, and applicable state and federal statutes and regulations (Preferred).
Education and Experience :
M.D. / D.O. degree from an accredited program.
MBA or master’s degree in a related field (preferred).
At least five years in a physician/executive/ administrative leadership role (preferred).
Effective rapport-building and relationship management skills.
Ability to take initiative and manage time effectively.
Demonstrated organizational and planning skills. Licensure, Certification or Registration Required:
Board Certified in recognized medical specialty
Current Florida medical license or licensure from another state with eligibility for Florida licensure endorsement
